I remember being on Domo and Goanimate. Those were some pretty good times I had, but eventually, it came to an end. Frankly, it was rather abrupt, seeing that it only lasted a few years. After the forums died, I knew that the site would eventually die.
And I was right.
I predicted that this site would die, a few months after Minory was PermaB&.

Um, so apparently the users still posting on here are actually ghosts because this site is apparently dead. Well, that's good to know.

This site is already showing signs of dying. Literally no one is commenting on the forums.

If you've read my posts, I said eventually. Maybe not this year or month, but in 4 years tops. Every few good sites/games or so rise and fall. 4chan, AoS, DomoAnimate, Go!Animate, et cetera, they sold out and died. I mention it a lot because I can't stress enough about it. Most of the users here are in their preteen/teen years, and are still into anime. This site will either become a shrek themed forum site, or simply die out like Gotavern. They thought that their site would last as long as we think our site would last, and what happened to them? the momentum died. If this website wants to see the light of 2017, it better step up it's game and pander to more people outside of it's userbase. Also, I like how some people here try to sound snarky but just sound condescending. Don't hate me because I exposed the harsh truths that people here have been trying to hide. Hate me because I had the audacity to do so. >INB4 I hate you because your truths aren't congruent to my beliefs

Hate me because I had the audacity to do so. >INB4 I hate you because your truths aren't congruent to my beliefs Now Slauer, I do find valid points in your arguments. And to be honest- I do know that the site will not last as long as we all wish. I myself have said snarky remarks in the thread in defense because I knew you were pretty much right when I didn't want you to be. I admit that I have had the thought about and predicted how long the forums would last. But I want you to consider this- though pretty much everyone on here are preteens and teens we do not have long before we outgrow this site and its ambitions. You have pointed this out and this is true. But do we really want to think about this? Do you want to worry about it so much? Is that why you made the thread? To stress us more than we might already be? Right now it'd make people feel as if they had a bomb counting down strapped to them. They don't want the end to come so soon. If you were to think about it too much, the timer may as well have stopped because you'd already been broken down. Remember when domo was shutting down? Everyone was devastated (I'm sure you were too). All of us started panicking and saying good-bye too soon. So to me, the actual shutdown was just there and my own timer went off long before September 15. Time can bring everyone down to their most pessimistic state. Now about momentum. You said this site lost momentum. I wasn't really surprised because this site was made to pick up the scraps left behind from the original forums' momentum. It never really had much to begin with. And then after the shutdown, it became the remains of domo animate itself. After both the forums and DA were removed both of their momentums instantly plummeted. It would be very hard to bring back up something that was already downhill. But yet we still persist on trying. We all know Nothing this good can last forever but that's what I admire about this community. After our entire website fell we stay together. It is not all of us though. It's can't be all of us. DA was already small to begin with. But still- it really worth trying to have everyone in this strong little community go through yet another domo shutdown? It's like asking if it would be better to just let the world to keep spinning or not. If you just let everyone have their good time here and worry about the shutdown when it is the right time (which is not now. Our little community is still fine as it is), I'm sure everything would be just fine..

In my opinion, I don't think a dislike system wouldn't (sorry..before i had a little typo.) really be good for the site......all the dislikes would throw more people against each other and it would be hard to maintain that.

If you just let everyone have their good time here and worry about the shutdown when it is the right time (which is not now. Our little community is still fine as it is), I'm sure everything would be just fine.. To be honest, I wasn't all that devastated, given how my account was being bombarded with spam from people that my odd friend knows about out of the blue, like TomatoButtOverlord, and OmegaBase. Also, looking back at what I've done and wishing that I did something else more desirable instead was rather unhealthy to think about, so when it shut down, I was relieved that all of that strange happenings and memories of past failures have been absolved. This may not have been true in other people's cases, however. One way this site can survive is if it were constantly being fed new users constantly, but God Forbid a Social Justice Warrior (or cultural marxist) comes onto this site. The flame wars that would occur on here would be too much for this site to handle, and by the time people realize that s/he is an SJW, it'd be too late, since they'd swarm the place and dominate it. This site would need to appeal to the interests of those outside the community, and Be more Pro-GamerGate by making vids/rants of it and spreading it around. At least we'd gain some nobility for helping to fight corruption. If we don't want to outgrow the site, we'd probably want to twist it to shape our current interests whilist still maintaining the "Domo" image and Pulling in new users. Since the owner of Gotavern is with us, we can probably get him to introduce those users here. Also, it'd be more helpful if this site became somewhat less sensitive as well, because that's what's hurting this website. I'm not saying we should be exactly like 4chan/8chan, but it'd help if we became more open to new users. Sites like this die because it's essentially a closed-off community sealed away from the rest of the internet, which would then bore the users on here. I'd suggest we start recruiting on sites we frequent[ly go] on, and appeal to the interests of users all around.
Fliers in our neighborhood/Ads on other websites are a good place to start.

While it may be a good idea, Remember that there's the possibility of abuse of the feature against users people don't like (because their viewpoints are incongruent to others), which can lead to flame wars and other (potentially) undesirable conflicts.
